Dresden's world famous Frauenkirche. Re-built from the ashes of WWII. Like a giant 3-D jigsaw puzzle large original blocks used to lie around the construction site. Now they fit neatly back together. Symbolic perhaps of how the people of Europe now neatly fit together. At least a lot better than they did. Yet the church's re-construction is made from only 15% of the original church. A chance for some new histories, a chance to build afresh upon some old ideals. Perhaps. Perhaps they just couldn't work out how some of the pieces fitted together, perhaps some of the pieces had been stolen as souvenirs. Perhaps just subtle variations of a repeating theme. I pray not.
